Medicare Part B is one of the two parts of Original Medicare. This part covers medical coverage. Beneficiaries who are qualified for Medicare Part A are also eligible to enroll in Part B once they have received Part A.
Medicare Part B requires a monthly premium for each month of coverage.

What does Part B cover?

• Physician visits
• Ambulance services
• Specific surgical procedures
• Dialysis
• Mental health care
• Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
• Radiation and chemotherapy
• Urgent care and more

Medicare Part B also pays for a variety of preventative medical services including:

• Pap test
• HIV screenings
• Glaucoma testing
• Hearing test
• Diabetes screenings
• Colorectal cancer screenings
• Some immunizations
• Diagnostic test such as MRIs, CT scans, & X-rays

Medicare Part B also covers the cost of prescription pharmaceuticals and durable medical equipment including:

• Wheelchairs
• Hospital beds
• Oxygen equipment
